I bought a 55 gallon starter kit from petsmart the other day and when i set it up i realized that the heater they gave me isn’t powerfull enough to heat my tank. It sits in a room with no heating so we have a bunch of heater in there but the temp fluctuates pretty often. I am looking for a heater or 2 that will be able to withstand the temp changes. Any suggestions?

I was wondering that if I put a heater in a 10 Gallon tank that has dividers, will the heater heat the whole tank or just the place where the heater is? And also, where can I get a heater for a 10 gallon tank?
