How to make the heater control switch to change in my 1988 Chrysler Fifth Avenue?

I can’t get the heater controls to switch from the windshield to the vents or floor. All it does is blow at the windshield. I replaced the control switch and vacuum hoses inside the car. Still nothing. What could be wrong?

the air door could be stuck and not moving to switch air to the various ducts. See if you can move it with your fingers. Check and make sure the vacuum is switch at the door actuator. good luck.

Sounds like an air door problem. If the switching door is not binding, you may have a bad vacuum actuator.

The air actuator doors are vacuum controlled. Defrost is the default setting meaning if there is no vacuum this is how it operates..Look under hood for broken vacuum line near firewall or heater hoses . The sticker with your engine info (usually on hood) may be helpful for tracing the vacuum line .
Also check vacuum canister.

also could be a ink pin or some other kind of stick in there if all the lines are good then your going to have to look inside
