My hot water heater has a slow leak in it. The carpet is starting to get wet in front of the hot water heater. I live in a mobile home.
The hot water heater is only six or seven years old.

Leaking water heaters are about had it . We had a leaking hot water heater and they had to take it out and replace it.
Thats what I would do because it is just going to kep leaking if you don’t. Fix it now or later.

It really depends on where it is leaking at. If its internal the water is leaking around the flame, unless its elect. U also have a pressure release valve that might be bad. Most time once they begin to leak they are rusted out inside and the only thing you can do is replace them. If you get the same brand they are quit easy to remove and replace.Really check it out before you change it out. Make sure that the water is really dry on your floor even remove the carpet it will rot out the partical board floor and grow mold that could make your family sick. God bless

Check out this link, the part of leaking water heater. My guess is a pin hole in the tank. Hope it helps.

Unles you see water on the top of the heater, or a drip out of the drian at the bottom, you will have to replace it. Sorry

Shes had it. Unless its coming from the pressure valve your water heater has had it. They are usually good for about 20 years or so depending on the water quality in your area.
