My gas heater in my room and in the living room gives off a strong smell when i turn it on. The heaters work, but for some reason, a real strong smell comes out too. Any help?

If you are using propane, they add an odor to the gas as it has none of it’s own. When there is a leak you can smell the additive. This is done as a protective measure. However, when your tank is low on gas, you get more of the odor additive and it will smell while your heaters are burning. I don’t use natural gas so I can’t help you much there. However, I would call the gas company and get them to check your heaters as a safety precaution.

Sounds like a wall furnace?
Could be just dust burning off like when you first turn on for the season.
Make sure you know what gas smells like!

Best i can say is have the gas company come out and inspect for sure. I would also turn off and give it a real good cleaning. I would just use a wet rag though. Nothing with ANY kind of cleaner on it. Just a wet rag and some elbow grease. MAke sure it is all clean everywhere and then have gas company come out to inspect.
