Why does my heater start blowing cold air at stop lights?

whenever i am at a stop light my heater starts blowing cold air on my 98 blazer. any suggestions?

    might need a new thermostat for the heater

    u might need to change your thermostat,. In extremely cold temperatures the water pump tends to crack, u might wanna check it out, if not check ur antyfreeze level. u might need some.

    if the water pump gets weak it wont ciculate coolant well and the coolant will stay in the heater core and get cold after a minute. once rpms go up the flow returns hot coolant to the heater core

    Top off the radiator/overflow with anti-freeze. Run it through a few heat cycles then check it again…
