We like the rest of the world are trying to save money on our heat we live in CT. We leave for work at 5:30am and return around 7:00pm. We keep our house at 58 degree and when we come home, we are use a space heater for the few hours we are up rather than keep the whole house at 68 degrees.

I assume you’re talking about electric portable heaters. They’re all equally efficient, and cost the same to run. Yes! Electric resistance heat is all created the same, and no technology yet developed can deliver more than 1500 watts worth of heat out of 1500 watts worth of electricity. Buy the cheapest electric heater of the wattage size you like, and it will be as electrically efficient as the most expensive. Note to Paul Harvey fans - yes, even Edenpure. It’s not a penny’s worth more efficient. The rest is all marketing hype.

the best are the oil filled heaters they work like radiators and stay warm after they are turned off. they are permanently sealed and come in different fin sizes. they work really fast and are not hot to the touch. safer than electric fans that blow hot air while they are on but as soon as you turn them off the heat is gone.

My dad has used portable heaters from and was really happy with them. I have no idea if they are the right size for your or not but worth looking…
